Hawaiian Homegrown Wool Company offers high quality yarns of locally produced fibers. Wool comes from, of course, the Hawaiian Homegrown Wool Company, and beautiful alpaca yarns are from Ahualoa Alpacas and Kalani Alpacas. These skeins of yarns are custom dyed by the producers, and natural color fibers are also available. We always want to hear about your recent projects, and can offer a bit of guidance on choosing yarns for yourself or a gift for your favorite fiber friend.
In addition to yarns, a variety of finished textile goods are offered, all made with superior craftsmanship and materials by Big Island fiber artists. Besides high quality hand knit and crochet items, such as hats, scarfs, tops and bags, baby items and toys are also available. We have a new line of carefully hand felted alpaca hats, lovely and durable. Their style is elegant and timeless, going easily from farm to city. Popular gift items are our custom dyed silk scarfs and for smaller gifts, trivets (potholders) quilted in traditional Hawaiian patterns.
We are proud to carry hand woven items, including our unique table runners made of Norfolk pine and Uluhe fern, and collectable Hawaiian Santas with their koa surfboards.
Our most sought after product are the back yard free range chicken eggs that sell out almost immediately. Come early for the eggs, as production is limited, especially in winter. Summertime is the height of egg production.
And, the staple throughout the year, regardless of warm or cool weather, is locally produced grass fed lamb. Boasting the quality of delicious mild-flavored island grown lamb, you will find a variety of cuts; nutritional information and recipes are always on hand and free.
