Ahualoa Alpaca Fiberworks offers high quality yarns of locally produced fibers. Wool and suri alpaca/wool blends come from Hawaiian Homegrown Wool Company, and huacaya alpaca yarns are from Ahualoa Alpacas. These skeins of yarns are custom dyed by the producers, and natural color fibers are also available. We always want to hear about your recent projects, and can offer a bit of guidance on choosing yarns for yourself or a gift for your favorite fiber friend.
In addition to yarns, a variety of finished textile goods are offered, all made with superior craftsmanship and materials by Big Island fiber artists. Besides high quality hand knit and crochet items, such as hats, scarves, and tops, baby items and toys are also available. Popular gift items are our custom dyed silk scarves and trivets quilted in traditional Hawaiian patterns.
We are proud to carry hand woven items, including our unique table runners made of Norfolk pine and Uluhe fern, glasses cases and scarves.
Our most sought after product are the back yard free range chicken eggs. Come early for the eggs, as production is limited, especially in winter.
And, the staple throughout the year is locally produced grass fed lamb. Boasting the quality of delicious mild-flavored island grown lamb, you will find a variety of cuts; recipes are always on hand and free.
